Ohh its been a while since I've visted this blog and figured it was about time to update it or just throw it in. Since Bella is at her daddy's for 2 weeks I have a little extra time on my hands (and i don't like it) I am missing her way to much these days!
Well, we moved to Birmingham and I guess It hasn't turned out to be what we expected or hoped for. However, all in due time Im sure God will reveal his plan for us and hopefully where we need to call "home". As for now, Bella and I are just enjoying our time together and getting her into all her new activities such as soccer, dance and her not so favorite, swimming.
Brooks sent me these photos of Bella and Harper and Julia out at Reunion a month back and I just loved them. Harper and Jules are such sweet friends to Bella and I couldn't be happier since Brooks and I are so close. It makes watching them grow up together, even more special. I love them!!

Bella has become OBSESSED with "So you think you can dance" I have to admit that its one of my favorites too, but she is really into Salsa and the Samba. The child loves to shake her booty! Anything Beyonce' sings, Bella sings. Esp. single ladies. She was def. born with rhythm. I caught her dancing to the Samba and quickly ran up stairs to get my phone when she stopped. Even on "Q" she shook it! Too funny.

Growing Up so Fast!

Can hardly believe my little girl is almost 3! Each day is a new adventure full of questions, questions, questions! Lord, my child is very inquisitive! She is either 100% a sweet angel, full of "i love you, mommy" or 100% ATTITUDE.. "I DO IT MYSELF" I never know which day it will be! I have to say this year has been very trying at times, but I honestly love watching her grow up. I enjoy that we can do so much together now! Things she loves: dancing, painting, reading, wearing high heels, makeup, dress up, barbies, babies, bubbles, puzzles, CADIE COLLINS, horses, GOING FISHING, picking flowers and CAKE! Her favorite foods are: Salad,oatmeal, yogurt with fresh fruit, bananas, noodles, Salsa, peppers...
I've been very blessed with not one, but 2 amazing grandmothers that can sow! LORD between my mom and Mrs. Lynn, Bella does not lack for anything! Always fit to a T and as she would say.. "NO BOW, NO GO!" Below are a few photos of my angel.

Bella and I went to see Moddy (Steph) in NYC in Aug for a very long weekend. It also happened to be one of my closets friends, Robyn's wedding. I was super excited to take Bella back since she was older, to visit Steph and all my friends and to get to go to Robyn's wedding at the Plaza! The wedding was breath-takingly beautiful as were the bride and groom! I couldn't have been happier! It was a wonderful wedding weekend!
Bella spent a lot of time with my girlies... Steph,Lauren, Carly, Claire and Mr. Kim ;) She showed out a few times but all in all we had a great time. She got to see her first Broadway show "Pinkalicious", we made pottery at FAO, saw a Barbie runway show at FAO, designed a BLACK (YES BLACK BARBIE AFTER HER MOTHER)played in the Park and visted Brooklyn. IT ALL WAS FUN! Steph was a super trooper to have us both there and did an amazing job of taking care of B while I was busy with wedding details. Always.. Always a place in my heart. Elmo Live with Jacey Woods!

I had the opportunity of taking Bella and her best friend Jacey Woods to see Elmo live! We lucked up and got front row seats! The girls were great and loved every minuet of it! Jacey spent the night and after a super fun night the girls crashed hard! We always love having her around. She is such a sweet child!

I had the privilege of keeping Crew and Carrington about a month ago to let Ryan and Jenny have a much needed date night! Jenny is constantly going and if you know her, you know she is the ultimate SUPERMOM-SUPER EVERYTHING! Ryan isn't too shabby himself! He is a go getter too! ha ha.. SO! Cadie, Bella and I went for a FUN night at the Holloway's! Those 3 were soo funny, constantly playing and copying each others' every move! From dancing to Tot's American Idol at bedtime, we had a blast! Bella did NOT want to leave and cried the whole way home! She still is asking, "we see Carrington and Cuw?" I love it! Bella has gone to visit her daddy for a week, yes I said a week! It has been a LONG one at that. I have to admit a night or two is nice once in a while to catch up on sleep, run errands or even RETURN to the real world. However, after that I am in serious sadness without my Bella.
Last week when Zack and I met in Birmingham to exchange child (insert pout) we got to visit with my special friend Kristin and her family for the night. The Ferguson's are always so kind to let Bella and I stay the night before meeting Zack. It's perfect for me because I not only get to break up Bella's ridiculously long car ride, but I also get to see Kristin. Kristin is in graduate school at Auburn and we NEVER get to visit! UGH! I really had a great time seeing her and Bella just adores her. Bella also seems to have a small crush on Kristin's younger brother Jarred! I mean the child doesn't leave his side! ;) Seems to give Kristin and I A LOT of time to play catch up, so I'm very grateful to sweet Jarred and his new found babysitting skills! Thanks to Kristin, Jarred and Mrs. Bethany for all they do for us in the "exchange" process. Just another set of people that seem to make my world go round! ;)
Did I mention how excited I was to see Bella tomorrow?? I feel like a kid at Christmas all over again!

Today we celebrated my Aunt Noe's Birthday at Oby's in Starkville after church. It is always good to see my Aunt and Uncle. They are two very special people that do so much for our family! Aunt Noe always takes great pictures and I love these two! My favorite child.. and my favorite puppy! haha.

This weekend we came home so I could get my taxes done. It also happened to be Adam's fraternity (Kappa Sig), Charity Bowl Classic. Megan was picked to represent Tri Delta and Adam was her escort. We went to Starkville Saturday night to see them both.. Little did we know that Megan would turn out to be Queen of the Charity Bowl! We were so excited! Bella had such a good time with everyone! She pretty much stole the show! She thought Megan was "cinderella" and just ooo'd and ahh'd over her pretty dress and crown! It was cute to she her attempt to put "Cinderella's" slipper on! She thought Megan's shoes were so pretty! ;) that girl and her shoes! I guess she gets it honestly! What can I say!
She also has finally figured out that if she would just let her uncle Adam love her the life would be grand! After many times being scared of Adam she finally won't leave his side! I mean wherever Adam is.. Bella is! It's really cute! She just loves him now and as you can see from the pictures, he does do!

Atlanta Visit with Daddy!

This past weekend Bella and I went to Atlanta to meet Zack for the day. We went to the Atlanta Children's Museum and the Aquarium! We had a really good time and Bella got to see her daddy! The Children's Museum was really cute and a perfect age for Bella! She had so much to get into there! She LOVED the sand! Zack and I didn't think we would ever get her away from there! She also loved the trucks and going fishing! It was a really cute place and perfect for Zack to see her in full action! We then went to the Aquarium where Bella kept yelling "COME ON DADDY ITS NEMO" everywhere we went! It was so funny! She even would take my camera up to the glass and say "SAY CHEESE FISHIES".. she was pretty cute, but all over the place and it was packed! I definitely recommend going NOT on a weekend! We also got to see a lot of mine and Zack's friends.. Patrick Thompson, Preston Rienhiemer and Lindsey and Steven Pond (formally Lindsey Swedenburg). It was a lot of fun and Bella is still asking about Nemo and Daddy! Anytime she gets to see Zack turns out to be a success! She really does love her daddy.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What better way to spend Valentine's Day then with the people you love the most! I was lucky enough this year to spend Valentine's Day with Bella and BOTH my brothers! Adam and Drew both came up for the weekend to see Bella and I. We had such a great time seeing them both! We spent the entire day (literally 4 hours) at Gatti Town playing endless hours of sibling rivalry at skeet ball, Dance Revolution, Bowling and target shooting! Bella's three favorite things were the carousel, bowling and skeet ball! We couldn't get her OFF the carousel.. which is really funny because usually she WON'T get on! This time she kept saying "one more time" EVERY TIME! Adam and I both were about DONE with the carousel! ;) We had so much fun that Bella was asleep by 7 that night and slept through our entire meal! Sunday we ate at Keefer's and Drew was kind enough to help me go to Wal-Mart! I mean that is an adventure in itself! I can't seem to get out of there under a $100 or less than $20 worth of us less products and food that Bella tends to add to the cart! Needless to say it was a wonderful weekend! I love my brothers! Thanks guys for coming to see us!

Twinkle Twinkle..

Two things my mom and Bella have in common.. 1. Their obsession of coloring 2. their love to sing! 2 nights ago I caught Bella handing my mom a crayon and asking her to sing Twinkle Twinkle.. probably the cutest thing! Bella just loves her Nanu! ;)

Tonsilis, Adenoids, Tubes.. OH MY!!

Last Thursday Bella had her tonsils and adenoids removed and her ear tubes replaced. After many months of chronic upper resp. infections and sleepless nights; Dr. Lee decided it was time to fix it. Bella hasn't slept through the night "soundly" since she was born. She sounded like an 85 year old man snoring! It was pretty terrible. Bless her heart too, she just couldn't stay well. I thought for a while it was the whole "starting school, being around kids deal" and I was wrong. Her adenoids and tonsils needed to be removed! They were causing her so much problems instead of fighting off infection! The surgery went well, the recovery on the other hand is a different story. The first day in the hospital she was amazing! Bouncing off the walls, watching all her favorite movies and coloring. By day 2 we were in trouble! From high fever to dehydration, Bella had a time. Poor thing has been in so much pain! There is nothing like seeing her child hurt and not being able to fix it! Thank heavens for my mom!! She came down for the week and took care of us BOTH! :) I honestly don't know what I would have done without her!
Thanks to The Benson's, Claire, Brooks, Cadie and everyone else who helped me out during the week and for all the goodies you got Bella! Here's to a better week for Bella!!

Charlie Comes Home!

After Bella's surgery and things calmed down a bit I decided to surprise Bella with Charlie. She LOVES him! He is the sweetest yet LAZIEST puppy ever! It takes serious effort for the puppy to get going! So different from Bella and I; a perfect choice! :)We are really having a great time with him! He sleeps through the night and lets you know when its time to "go".. what more could I want? Oh.. AND he's the best cuddler! I'm pretty sure I will stay single now forever! ;) I love him and Bella does too!

Meet Charlie!

For the longest time I have wanted a puppy and not just any puppy! I've been waiting to get a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I have hounded my mom and pretty much everyone I know about getting one! The problem was A. money B. responsibility C. finding one close. Most of the ones I have researched have been out of state and I have been terrified of a puppy mil dog. This past week while in a patients room I noticed an add in the paper for 3 King Charles' in Jackson! I immediately called and Bella and I went over yesterday to meet them. The owners are a sweet young married couple who have both mom and dad registered AKA King Charles. They are super owners and the puppies were just amazing! Bella and I both feel for them immediately! Bella is having surgery next week so after she is well we will pick Charlie up and bring him home! He is not quite 6 weeks and will be getting his shots first. Bella just loved him! We both are super excited to have this little guy come into our lives! Sorry the pics are so blurry. I took them with my phone!

This morning Bella was helping me do laundry in her room and I noticed that she was picking out her OWN clothes for the day! I love this video and the part where she attempts to see herself in the mirror. At what point did she start getting so big?? (super cute, but kinda sad) And YES she has on panties and her sneakers! She refuses pants and ALWAYS ask for shoes! Gotta love a girl and her shoes! ;)

I just had to post this picture! Cadie and I took B out to eat tonight to celebrate her potty training! Bella went to school is "panties" all day today with no accidents even through naptime! I've been so proud of her lately! She has done so good and my stories of potty training have been PRETTY FUNNY! Just Can't Get Enough!!!

I went to NYC last weekend to see my girlfriends and of course had a blast! Seems like I can't get there fast enough or stay long enough! If it wasn't for my sweet mom and family who would absolutely kill me.. I'm pretty sure we would be there! It's not just the city life its the great friends I have there!
The weekend was SUPER cold, but sooo much fun! I got to see the Koff's (Jontue and Gabe) on Saturday with Serg at a Comedy Club. It was hilarious! I honestly didn't think I could laugh that hard! Super fun to catch up with Jontue since we have girls only 3 months apart! Jontue and I were BOTH pregnant finishing up school and our Master's project together.. VERY SICK AND MOODY and neither one knew! How ironic now that we have 2 spitfire little girls, Ellie and Bella!
I also spent the weekend with my favorite girlfriends celebrating Robyn's engagement! Clarissa, Lauren, Robyn and Carly. We went to brunch and out Saturday night. Always lots of catching up to do and never a quite moment! Sunday I spent the day with Steph and our good friend Lindsey Swendenburg Pond (who was up visiting Steph for the weekend). Steph is always good about convincing me to return! :)The weekends there always go by so fast! I hope to be back there next month! I miss you girlies already!

A few weekends ago, Bella and I ventured south to Hattisburg for the day to see Paige and Taylor Wamble! Paige and I have been best friends since 7th grade and I still can't believe we have girls together! It really is alot of fun sharing Bella with Paige! Even though we don't get to see each other very often, when we do its always alot of fun! The girls were so funny! They kept calling for each other from their strollers the entire time we shopped! They repeated EVERYTHING the other one said and couldn't get enough of one another! I had a blast and I'm so glad we got to see them!

Bella Comes Home!

Most of you know that Bella spent Christmas this year with her daddy in Georgia. I had a very hard time letting her go, but Zack did a good job of reassuring me all week. They called me everyday! Hearing Bella always cheered me up! Zack had his hands full with a 2 year old, but I think all in all they both really loved seeing each other. I ended up working everyday including Saturday and Christmas day to keep myself busy. As much as I missed my little princess, I did LOVE having time to sleep and go to the grocery ALONE! :) Because the ride over there was 7 hours and tough on both Bella and Zack, Zack decided to fly her back. It turned out to be a GREAT idea! This is Bella's return home! I wish you could hear her.. she was so excited to see her Mommy! Christmas a day after was just as wonderful because she was home!

Little B's Second Bday!

For Bella's birthday party we had it at the Play Place of Ridgeland. It turned out to be a GREAT place to have a 2 year old birthday! There was such much for the kids to play with and enough room for all the adults! I was very pleased and think Bella had a ball! She sang Happy birthday at least 10 more times that day to herself, so Im pretty sure she knew it was for her! On top of it, she has enough toys and dress up clothes to last year until she is 5 so don't worry with the next 4 birthdays! JK... she really did get alot of fun things and my apartment is flooded with singing and moving toys, so mission accomplished! Here are some pictures my Aunt Noe took. All my pictures are on Shutterfly so as soon as I get them on my desk top I will add a lot more of the party!

School Party and Dinner for B!

I can hardly believe that Bella turned 2 last week! I think this past year has taught me so much about myself and about being a mom! As Bella grows into this sweet little girl with so much love, she reminds me the importance of being comfortable in your own skin and loving the ones you care about with no ends! I thought birth through age one was fun, but MAN! 1 to 2 is awesome! I'm loving all the hugs, kisses, funny one liners and EVEN her sassiness! (wonder where she gets that)
For her actual birthday, her Godmother, Steph flew in from NYC and Beka came up early. We had a party at school filled with cupcakes and lots of playing! Bella even blew out her own candle! That night we went to eat at Little Tokyo Habaci Grill where Cadie and Claire joined us. Bella LOVES ginger salades and rice so she was in heaven! She also loves to watch the cook with all his tricks! She's just not too sure about the FIRE part! She kept saying, "mommy its Hot" and acting like she was blowing out the fire! TOO CUTE. I have to give her props, it was the first meal in a while where she sat through the entire dinner in her OWN seat with no outburst or tears! It was great! She was precious and it couldn't have been a better night! Thanks to the girls for all their gifts and for sharing this special night with us! We love you!!
We went for her 2 year check up to find out JUST how small she is! :( She weighed 22lbs (5%) and was 32in tall(10%). Doctor Ellison joked that she would be on whole milk until she was 16! What can I say.. she may be a petite little thing but she is a firecracker at heart! I can't wait to see what the next year has in store!

Tonsillitis and Nanu's!

Every Thanksgiving my family loads up and heads to the MS Gulf Coast for the Shields' family extravaganza. We all meet in Moss Point/Pascagoula area for a fun few days of great food, family and friends. HOWEVER.. this year the car was packed and we were finishing up work when I received a phone call saying.. MS SHIELDS, Bella has 103.5 fever, could you please come get her from school! I panicked! I was an hour away at work so who else do I call.. CADIE! Sweet Cadie took B to the Doctor to find out that she has apparently had TONSILLITIS for the past MONTH. The doctor said her adenoids and tonsils were the size of golf balls and she had puss pockets on her throat! :( I cried probably as hard as B because I have been so stricked on snacks lately because SHE HANS"T BEEN EATIN! It's been a time!
Well, NOW WE KNOW WHY! Poor thing was sick. So.. Bella and I spent Thanksgiving in Jackson and ate Thursday with the Benson's. BOY WAS IT GOOD! Thanks Mrs. Ginger and Mr. Rick for always being our Family! :)
Bella's fever was a roller coaster ride! UP DOWN AND ALL AROUND FOR 4 days! Once it came down we came on to Columbus to see the whole family post Thanksgiving on the coast. To my surprise Nanu and Pop Pop had a surprise for Bella of their own! They MADE HER A TRAIN! Its an early birthday present and we LOVE it! Its so creative and super fun! If you are ever around Columbus, Call my mom! She is all about taking friends on the Train! Luck us to have them both!
I hate we missed a great Thanksgiving with the whole fam, but I'm glad to say that B is much better and we are gearing up for a BIG 2nd birthday!

Lauren's Wedding!

A few weeks ago I got to go to NYC for a long weekend with my girlfriends to celebrate my sweet friend, Lauren's wedding. I got to see Steph, do some shopping, eat good food and see LOTS of Christmas lights! there is nothing better than NYC during Holiday season. Lauren's wedding was a blast! It was my first Jewish wedding and I have to say.. they have some great traditions and throw the BEST parties! :) I really had a great time and loved seeing everyone! It was good for all of us girls, minus Robyn, to get together. We missed you Robs! Congrats again to Lauren and I can't wait to come back next month! ;)

Halloween with Daddy!

Bella had her first full weekend with her Daddy here in Jackson over Halloween. Zack took her trick or treating in Madison Friday night. I think she turned out to be the cutest "B" ever! :) Please noticed the pumpkin bag my mom made! It was precious! Saturday they went shopping and did lots of playing together. Bella came back with lots of goodies! Sunday, Zack, Bella and I had breakfast together and I think it was a huge success. All in all, she had a fun weekend with her daddy and did lots of talking about it when he was gone!

Halloween with Mommy!

Bella, Cadie and I spent Halloween together on Wednesday night since Zack was coming into town. We had the pleasure of going with the Herring's to their Fall Festival at their church in Madison. They had the BEST Food and tons of games and stations for the kids to play! Bella and Harper spent the entire night either JUMPING or running around kicking balls. Those two are a site to see. Bella kept saying "Come on, Harpa" it was so cute! I think Harper thought she was crazy by the end of the night! I love when we get to see them! We always have the best time! Thanks Brooks for inviting us and to Cadie for ALWAYS being my "BETTER HALF" haha..

ELMO MAKES MUSIC!

A few weeks ago Winnie the Pooh Live was coming to Vicksburg. Bella is such a Pooh fanatic that I got us tickets. Well, then I got my appendix taken out and Bella didn't get to go! I was so upset for her! I felt terrible that It was my fault that she didn't get to go! Luckily, Elmo Makes Music/Sesame Street Live was coming to Jackson and I thought it would be a great way to make up for missing Pooh! Well, my sweet brother Drew took the initiative to get Bella and I tickets! We were on the 8th row front and center! WE had a ball! She danced and played the whole time! Thanks Drew for the tickets! I hope the picture shows you just how much Bella loved it!

I totally forgot about these pictures taken on my phone and I just had to post them! My mom came in town last week to help me around the house and with Bella. OOOUCCH Mommy!

Last Thursday morning while I was at work, I started having really bad stomach pains. I thought I was coming down with the stomach bug! However within an hour I was rushed to the ER with appendicitis and was transfered to River Oaks Hospital where they did an Emergency Appendectomy. Needless to say, things went great! I was out of the hospital Friday afternoon. Mrs. Ginger and Mr. Rick Benson rushed to my side and did a great job taking care of me and arranging surgery with the best doctors! My mom, poor thing, was in Columbus sick with the stomach bug herself so she had to stay in Columbus. Beka, Cadie and Kyle took care of Bella for me until I could get home.
Once home, I realized JUST how slow I was! Once Mom got to feeling better, we made the decision for Bella to head to Columbus so I could recover. Pretty hard to take care of a toddler when you can't lift or bend! Sweet Beka took her and Bella will come home tomorrow! I'm doing much better and hope to return to work soon. I go back to the doctor Wednesday to remove my Staples. I'm really looking forwards to seeing Bella and having her back here. Even though I know she is having a blast with her NANU, its been too quite without her! :( Thanks to my family the Benson Family,the Holloway's, Brooks, Claire, Cadie, Kyle and everyone else who helped me this past weekend! I'm so blessed to have such great friends and family~

Petting Zoo!

While we were at the Mississippi State Fair, Cadie convinced me to take Bella into the petting zoo. It was their first outing together last year when Cadie started keeping Bella. I can't believe time flew so fast!
I had big hesitations about the petting zoo. All I could think was.. GROSS animals with gross germs! However, once I got in there and realized how much fun Bella was having, I seemed to calm down!I did Purell A LOT later! haha. She was so cute with them! She would point out eat animal with their sound i.e. Cow.. "MOOO" before she would feed them. I think she and Cadie both had a great time! I especially love the picture of her with the pigs. She thought they were so funny!

Last weekend Cadie and I ventured out to the Mississippi State Fair. It was my first time! Man was it expensive! Geez.. I had no idea it was going to cost a MILLION dollars to ride 4 rides and eat! Needless to say, I learned that my sweet Bella is an adventurous! She loved the fast rides and hated the slow "round-n-round" ones. The best part of all was eating! YUMMMY funny cakes and chicken on a stick! Goodness, I think we gained 10lbs just walking in. Bella has a new thing for FOOD ON A STICK. She thought it was pretty cool, especially the corn dogs! ;) Im so thankful Cadie went with us. Its so good to have her to share Bella with! I hope she will continue to go everywhere with us! Bella and I both enjoy her so much.

Like I said, We stayed in Columbus for the weekend since Drew was in town and had a great time! If there is one place Bella likes to be its with her NANU!! My goodness the child doesn't leave my mom's side from the time we get there until we leave! She just adores her and the rest of my family. I couldn't be more thankful! From playing in the yard with Drew and Paul to makeup with Aunt "NEKA" she always has a great time and comes home spoiled! Thanks again to Drew for picking her up and bringing her back for me! You are a life saver and thanks to Mom and Paul for spoiling us both! Its always so fun to come home.

This past weekend we spent in Columbus visiting my family and seeing Annie Cate in homecoming. I had to work Friday, so my sweet brother Drew volunteered to pick Bella up Thursday night on his way to Columbus. I was very shocked to hear that Bella did great for Drew and they spent the whole day Friday playing in the yard. Adam escorted Annie Cate friday night so the whole family was FINALLY together. I was super excited about having a family picture until I realized Beka was NO where to be found! :( Needless to say we had a blast seeing Annie Cate and visiting with everyone. She looked so beautiful and made us so proud!

Bella really seems to be into playing "dress up" or "makeup" these days! I mean she is ALWAYS into something of mine, whether its shoes, clothes or my perfume! She thinks she needs to be doing whatever Mommy is doing. So this past Saturday Annelise and I were freshening up to go out for the day. We turn around and we found Bella just like the pictures will show.. IN HEELS, A DRESS, AND HER SUNGLASSES primping in the mirror! If this isn't cute, I'm not sure what is! :) Miss Priss in full affect!

We have been crazy busy! 21 months is already here and about gone!I can't believe we are already thinking of birthday #2! Gosh the time flies! Bella is really starting to grown into her own. I'm seeing so much personality right now! She LOVES playing with her babies and pretend play. She mimics me ALL the time! I find her playing "make up" and "mommy" a lot these days. It's pretty sweet, but scary that she watches me so much! She is talking up a storm. She can identify eyes, noes, mouth, ears, hands, head, elbow, toes, and belly button. The others are just randoms! :) Super into Princesses right now, especially Cinderella and DORA. Can put on her shoes and socks and helps with shirt and pants. she can jump, kick, pass and catch a ball. She loves to sing the Cinderella song and The itsy bitsy spider. Still big into coloring. We color EVERYTHING including Mom's walls and babydolls faces. She eats completely by her self without a sippy cup and uses utensils. She is doing GREAT with the potty. I'm about ready for big girl panties! She says "oh boy, That's Sweet, So pretty, there ya go, where did she go?, there she is?, that's mine, most family names, identifies people, some colors and numbers and basic objects. She loves marsh mellows and bananas! We are completely gone from paci and 100% into carrying PINK EVERYWHERE! She hates: getting her hands dirty, wiping her nose, changing close, the word NO, and getting water in her ears. My favorite thing she says is "awe.. its okay" if you pretend to cry! I think she gets this from bed time! My least favorite thing she says is "WAITT MOMMY WAIT"!! at bedtime when I leave the room. It breaks my heart! OKAY that catches me up with the baby book! :) Here is a video from my mom's house this past weekend. We had already had breakfast and Bella seemed to be hungry for a snack around 10 am! I was craving chicken so we decided to dip into the cold chicken bag! Needless to say.. SHE LOVED it! Please ignore my annoying voice in the background and the persistant try to say Adam. I mean what can I say... State just can't get it together in football! From our offensive coordinator to our clumsy quarter back, we are doomed. Oh well. I still support them and say GO STATE! :) The past 2 Saturdays I have been lucky enough to have Mom keep Bella for the day while I went to the game. Even though we lost by ONE point this past Saturday, the game was a lot of fun.I was also excited to see some of my girlfriends from out of town and Pregnant Brooks with Julia! :) My Mom made Bella's cute MSU outfit and I just had to get one on here of her! Thanks Mom! We also got a chance to all meet for Lunch on Sunday so Bella could see Adam and Megan. She has recently started saying "ADAM" which just melts his heart! Its precious. As we were walking back to Adam's apartment, Bella started humming " you are my sunshine" with Adam. I couldn't get all of it, but it was sweet. We all grew up having the song sung to us by our late Grandpa Miller. So, it brought back a lot of great memories. Im glad Adam got to share it with B.

I can hardly believe I turned 27 yesterday!! UGH.. where have the past 26 years gone! I keep thinking.. 30 is so close. Whats next? haha. Me, B, My Mom and Beka had planned on going to the beach (courtesy of the Benson's) for the weekend to celebrate, however the hurricane and bad weather here kept us in. BOOOO. I was NOT excited but didn't want to chance the weather. Therefore, Bella and I celebrated in Columbus Friday with my family and here in Jackson Saturday. My birthday was a very blessed one. My mom and Sister gave me a precious shirt and MONEY (Thanks Mom) and ADAM YOU BETTER BE SENDING MINE SOON! haha.
Saturday Bella and I had lunch with Mrs. Ginger at Primo's and then headed back over to the Benson's where I was greated with a CAKE, BALLONS, and LOTS OF GIFTS! I was very excited and So surprised! This family is so sweet to me! I can't say enough about their kindness. They even had Bella a present just to celebrate! HOW SWEET!!
Saturday night, Bella and I went to my friend Leeanne Avalon's for a cookout. Where I got to see my great friends Michelle Moskal and Mandy Smilie! Even though it was cut short by Bella's bedtime, I really had a great time. Thank you girls for my HOBO PURSE!! YEA!! I am so excited to use it!

First Day at First Baptist Madison!

I know its taken me a while to blog about Bella starting school, but this new schedule has thrown both of us for a loop! It was a big change in Bella's sleep time. She now gets up around 6:30 vs. 8:00 and only naps ONE time a day! Therefore, the first day getting her up and ready was not very exciting. HENCE ONLY TWO PICTURES. She did however jump right out of my arms and ran on in to play once we got there. NEVER EVEN LOOKING BACK. There I was crying in the doorway! I couldn't believe she didn't want to hug me at least ONE more time! :) To say the least, she has done wonderfully! No time outs and gets on her mat at nap time. The first week her adjectives were: FRIENDLY, BUSY, INQUISITIVE, NICE and ENERGETIC. I couldn't complain. She even got Star student! I was very proud of her! The next week we came down with PINK eye and an upper respiratory infection. UGH.. I knew this would happen eventually but was not prepared the 2nd week. I have No time off just yet with my new job therefore, I had to pay Cadie to stay home with her for a few days. She still wasn't quit over her cough on Thursday so she went with me to work! It actually was a lot of fun! All my patients LOVED her and she fit right in with the Rehab crew! We are still adjusting to the change, but I'm very happy with her new school and I just adore her teachers. I hope we will stay here a while. Its such a blessing!

Saturday Bella and I met up with the Holloway's for a fun morning at Shiloh Water Pad in Brandon. Jenny called me Friday night introducing me to the idea and I was really glad we ended up going. It turned out to be such a cute place and perfect for their age. They all lOVED the slide and the oversize water guns! Between the 6 of us we were all pretty tired when we left! Unfortunately I didn't get too many cute shots, being that I was usually chasing a child! :) Thanks Jenny for inviting us! Oh and did I mention.. Carrington and Bella look TOO Much alike! First Hair Cut!

Bella got her first haircut Friday! I've been putting it off for a while now, even with all the comments of her having a "mullet" and looking like a little boy. I just couldn't brin myself to cut her pretty curls! Luckly my good friend Claire's aunt cuts hair right down the road from us and was more than happy to do it! Chandra works at Banz's Salon in Ridgeland. Moms if you need your child's hair cut, go to her! She was wonderful! All it took was Bella in my lap with M&M's and Wendy's Fries! I mean, what more would you want?? The hair cut turned out precious and we still have plenty of curls!

Tomorrow is Cadie's LAST day with Bella and I! Cadie will be returning to school at USM and Bella will be starting First Baptist Madison on Monday. We both decided back in May that it was in Bella's best interest to have her around children more often. I can't tell you how much my heart hurts to lose her! Cadie has been with us since Bella was 6 months old! She is not only Bella's OTHER MOTHER she is also my secretary, psychiatrist, daily planner, personal assistant... need I say more! She DOES IT ALL! I'm not only losing someone who has changed Bella's life, but mine as well. I can't say enough about her! Even though she will still be picking B up from school a few days and helping me when she is in town, having her NOT come in at 7 am in her PJ's just won't be the same! We will miss you Cadie!! WE LOVE YOU!

This past weekend I had the pleasure (THANKS MOM) of going to NYC to visit my greatest friends for a huge girl weekend! One of my closets NYC friends, Lauren is getting married in November!! I couldn't be more excited for someone! I met Lauren when I was in NY at Columbia and from the first day she spoke of Eric I knew they would be married. So, the 5 of us (Clarissa, Lauren, Robyn and Carly) had a small get together to celebrate! Full of great food and LOTS OF GOSSIP!
I also got the chance to see Steph which always is a huge highlight! Steph and I rarely get the chance to truly enjoy each others company because we are usually cramming a week long vacation into 3 days! :) I missed Bella everyday and felt so lost without her, however If you know me.. YOU KNOW I ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF THE CITY! Thanks girls for a fabulous weekend.

Cadie called me last week to ask if she could take Bella to "Build-A-Bear" since it was a rainy day and both of them were stir crazy in my apt. Little did I know that it would transform Bella! PER CADIE'S REPORT... Bella had a blast, however had to have all the works. The MOST expensive bear, shoes, dress, crown, wand and sound effects. All for a grand total of $45.00! You should have seen my face when I got the text with the total! PANIC! I was thinking an AMAZING bear! On my way home from work Cadie calls again.
Cadie Shelby, you are going to die when you see Bella! She insists on wearing the bears clothes and has been in time out for 2 min now because she pinched a fit to wear them!

Bella and I took another trip to Columbus last weekend to see my family. Aunt Lenore and Uncle Joe stopped in on Friday to visit. We had a great time! Bella was plenty of entertainment for us all! My great friend Brooks Herring gave Bella a bubble bucket a few weeks back and I've been saving it for a "rainy" day. Well, Friday was great time being that Aunt Noe had her camera! ;) Bella got a kick out of the bubbles and I loved actually being behind it for once! Last Saturday, July 26th was 3 year anniversary of my Dad's death! Man, I can't believe it's been 3 years! Some days feels so much longer than others. He truly was the great man. So full of life, family and Jesus Christ. As I think of all the great times we had together my most missed memory would be riding around in his silly "tracker" when I would come home from college or NYC listening to "oldies but goodies" (as he would say). Nothing beats those great talks! As I watch Bella grow, I think of how awesome of a grandfather he would have been and I'm reminded of what great standards he set for me! I hope the man that I one day marry will be half the man he was! This picture was taken on his last Relay for Life! He was so sick that day.. yet still managed to walk half the track a lone.. I would like to say on that day he took his victory walk! As sad as I get thinking of him being gone, I am even more grateful that he is in a place of pure delight with NO PAIN and PLENTY OF VICTORY WALKS!! :)

Bella and I have been spending a lot of time lately with Harper and Brooks. Brooks is one of my closets friends however it seems between our 2 busy lives with babies we can never get on the same schedule! Harper is almost 13 months and you would think he was Bella's age! Bella spent the weekend with NaNu (my mom) in Columbus so I could go to the beach with my great friend Annelise. We had so much fun on our girls trip, however I think Bella had more fun! She loves my Mom!! Its probably because she gets spoiled and my Mom showers her with great food, kisses and lots of outdoor fun!
Ms. Robin Creegen stopped in one day with the girls to see Bella and got some cute shots of her! Apparently Bella loves the camera now because all you have to do is say.. CHEESE and she gives a huge over size smile! I LOVE IT!

For the past couple of days I've been working with Bella on "potty time". She has been taking her diaper off when she pottys for a few weeks now so, I figured it was time to get the potty chair BACK out and try again! Most of you know Chris Benson, but those of you who don't really should!Chris has been one of my closest friends since Sophomore year at State. We truly have been through EVERYTHING together! He always seems to be there when I need someone to hold my hand, pamper me or just make me smile! He is a very selfless, caring and humble friend and I'm very blessed to have him in my life!
This past weekend Chris turned 25 and his parents had a few of Chris' closest friends over to celebrate! We had SUCH a good time! The Benson's are a great family and I love being around them. They have really taken Bella and I in since we moved here! We now go to church with them on Sundays and usually afterwards for lunch. It's always eventful with Bella, however great to feel apart of such a special family. They have such a warm house and we always have a really fun time getting to hang out with them!
For Chris' birthday I decided to let Bella do something a little special for him! She really loves art these days so last week her and Cadie took a trip to Madison to paint my own pottery where Bella made Chris a cute "change bowl" with her hand print in the middle reading "HIGH FIVE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENSON!" It turned out so cute and Bella had a great time making it! The pictures are from the cookout at his parents house! Thanks again for having us.. we love you guys! Happy Birthday Benson! I should have posted this about A MONTH ago, but I have been so busy I haven't sat down to hardly check my blog! I know.. Terrible Mom! So, Let me brag a sec on my little B!
Since we are the only 2 in the house, we spend EVERY SEC together! :) Literally. Therefore a lot of Bella's "free" time is when I'm busy taking care of the house or doing laundry. This can be good because Bella will usually color or play in her castle. I'm all about kids learning to play on their own. I think its AS IMPORTANT or even more important to be comfortable with themselves as with a group.
OK, so I had to say that being an OT. Back to B.
About a month ago I was doing laundry while running our bath water. In the mean time, I looked over and Bella had put one sock on ALL BY HER SELF and was attempting to put the other! I was SO excited! She is learning so much that I never realized!

Oh and Before someone says anything.. YES Bella does wear clothes and I do have pictures of her in them! :)

Sunday we spend the day at the Manhattan Children's Museum. It was by far the funniest day! Bella LOVED this place and as a OT, I DID TOO! It was very hands on and had 4 floors filled with Arts & Crafts, Imaginary Play, Sensory Stimulation, Gross Motor Activities and Exploratory activities. They also had a WHOLE FLOOR of DORA! Bella has become a huge Dora Fan and she was very cute on this floor. She wanted to point at EVERY character and name them, esp Backpack! She met a cut little girl Zoe who she played with on the drums and loved dancing to Dora music with. Zoe was precious. Steph was such a good sport! She was right in there with Bella the whole time playing and being involved. I really appreciated having her there. Bella also got to make her FIRST arts and crafts activity! She loves GLUE and whats not to love about MESSY art projects.
The whole place was $9.00 unlimited access and I think I had as much fun as Bella did! Its definitely a place to take the kids if you ever visit! I would love to be able to take her there daily! So much fun!

Saturday Steph (Moddy), Bella and I loaded up for a long subway ride to the Bronx Zoo. Bella doesn't do well on long rides due to her Aunt Beka! Beka LOVES holding Bella and has made it difficult for me to enjoy strolling with her, due to Bella wanting to be held! Stephanie had to teach me a lesson REAL fast on patience and self control and Bella learned even FASTER that she wasn't coming out of the stroller! Once we got that straight it was a fun day. The 3 things Bella enjoyed the best were PRAIRIE DOGS, TURTLES AND DUCKS (GO FIGURE). She was terrified of the monkeys and didn't think too much of the lambs! The lamb in the picture "BAHHHH'D" at Bella as soon as we set for a pose, hence Bella and my reaction! It was pretty funny. After a long day at the Zoo Bella decided to LAY DOWN IN the MIDDLE OF THE ZOO on the road. Stephanie and I couldn't figure out what on earth she was doing, but she thought it was soo funny! Steph and I immediately freaked about germs and our OCD kicked it!
We left and on the way home we were hit with a DOWN POUR! It was such a hot day and the rain wasn't going to kill us so we walked in it! It was pretty funny and Bella thought it was great! What a fun, but tiring day.

Last weekend Bella and I made a trip to NYC to visit Moddy (Stephanie) and take Bella to some fun places. Stephanie and I always have a great time when we get together and I love having her as Bella's Godmother. She brings so much to her life and I couldn't ask for a more involved person. Bella loves her.
Our trip was very relaxed, but fun filled. We went to the Bronx Zoo, The Manhattan Children's Museum, Swimming, the park, shopping.. etc! What can you NOT do in NYC! :) We had such a good time. Bella really took to Jenny, Stephanie's roommate. Bella thought she was so funny and Jenny taught her all about FASHION! It was cute! Bella did great on the flights. She had a hard time Friday adjusting to the schedule change and subways, but Stephanie taught me will power pretty quickly.. THANKS STEPH! Bella Got a little restless on the way back after our 11 hour delay and DRIVE HOME AT MIDNIGHT FROM ATLANTA, but other than that.. she was a princess. :)
ANOTHER reason I love NYC is my wonderful girlfriends. I went to NYC 4 years ago thinking I could never find close girlfriends in 2 years of school and BOY WAS A WRONG! Clarissa, Robyn, Lauren and Carly are 4 people I can honestly say have pulled me very far! They are always very close in heart and phone! This past weekend we got to spend the day with my dad's side of the family to celebrate my sweet cousin Laura Beth's wedding! Mom and Beka came Friday afternoon to Jackson and we spent the day shopping and having lots of girl time. It was wonderful! Saturday we met Drew and the rest of the Shields' crew in Collins. Well..minus Adam who had prior commitments for Orrientation for Mississippi State.
The wedding was so sweet and very much a celebration of two people madly in love! I couldn't be happier for the new Mr. and Mrs. Bond! Congrats Laura Beth!!

We got to see so many special people and spend a day together. I know my dad was very happy that day! He always treasured his brothers and sisters and also got so excited when the whole family was together. It means so much to me now as a mom to get to share Bella with the rest of my extended family. They are very supportive of both Bella and I. I am very blessed to have them! Im looking forwards to Thanksgiving on the Coast already!! Can't wait for My Aunt Martha and Noe's good cooking! YUMMMM!!!

Friday Zack, Mrs. Lynn (Gammie) and Kathryn drove over for the weekend to see Bella. Friday night was Bella's first time to spend the night with Daddy. She had such a good time!! Zack said she took a little time to adjust, but did great for him! He said he really enjoyed his visit with her and I know Bella did too! She always loves getting to see Daddy, Gammie and Aunt Kat! They spoil her to pieces!
I'm not going to lie.. I worried all night about her; calling and texting Zack frequently! However, I realized quickly that Zack is very protective of his little girl and does a great job when he keeps her! I came home Saturday thinking she would run into my arms and shower me with a million hugs! To my surprise; she quietly grinned! (INSERT POUT) I was secretly sad that she didn't make a big fuss over seeing me, but when its all said and done, I was excited that her and Zack had such a great weekend together! Here's to many more with Bella and Daddy!
Oh and let me say thank you to Mrs. Lynn who made me a HUGE bowl of chicken salad and pimiento cheese! YUMMMMM!! Hers is the BEST! Bella and I have indulged ourselves in both! Thanks Gammie!

Casey Collins!

Cadie (Ce-Ce) had a big birthday last week so she took a week off from keeping Bella to go to the beach! So, her sister Casey kept Bella. I was very nervous at first given that Bella is so attached to Cadie and has been "clingy" a lot more lately. I figured within the first day Casey would be calling me to come home! However, this was SOO not the case. Casey had Bella at the pool, park, eating, sleeping and running around happy as a lark! I was extremely excited to come home each day and see a smile on BOTH of their faces! Bella also started calling Casey "Say-Cee" It was so cute! She took to her very well!

Casey is 19 and has a Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease which is a inherited Neurological Disorder affecting your sensory and motor nerves. In Casey's situation it affects her lower extremities causing her to have muscle weakness in her legs. I was atonished to hear she had this disease being that it ony affects 1 in 2,500 people in th US and that my Granmother Shields was one of the first cases. My grandmother was very limited at times having to crawl on her knees or wear braces to get around. Casey does EXTREMELY well and is such a delight to watch! She is a very strong and independent girl with lots of personality much like my grandmother.

If any of you Mom's are looking for help this summer, Casey is home for the summer from school and is looking to help a family with children. I am the first to say she is WONDERFUL and would make you and your kids so happy! If you are interested, please let me know!

Sweet Bella!

Yesterday we took a trip to Columbus to visit Nanu (Mom) and the rest of my crew. We also scheduled in time to meet Ms. Robin Cregeen and her girls at Lake Lowndes for some pictures of Bella. It turned out to be such a fun day! Bella was in the best mood and the weather couldn't have been better. We had a lot of fun just playing. These were some of my favorites, however I love every picture of Bella! Guess I am kinda partial!

Mommy Day!

Yesterday was the BEST Mother's Day! I spent the entire day with Bella and It I couldn't have been happier. One of my greatest Friends, Annelise and her sister Sarah Kathryn came by to visit us. Annelise brought her puppy Norman. We had BIG time!!
Friday started my Mother's Day weekend when I received a box of GODIVA chocolates from Bella's Godmother, Stephanie! Steph and I share a love for Godiva and Bella! ;) It was so sweet and thoughtful of her to remember me. I ate EVERY LAST PIECE before Mother's day even arrived! ;) Thanks Steph.. you are the best ever!

Saturday Mom and Adam (Nanu and A-ham as Bella says) came to keep Bella for the day while Kyle and I threw a baby shower for our good friends the Bell's. To my surprise Mom and Adam had created the sweetest gifts for me! A huge wall frame of a tone of photos I had never seen of Bella. They were all so cute and It couldn't have been sweeter. Adam also made me a personalized frame from Bella that said "MOMMY I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH" with a picture of Bella standing with her arms wide open! Definitely brought tears to my eyes. I have the best family. Thank you so much. I love you.

THEN.. Saturday night after coming home, I found a DOZEN long stem Red roses and One white rose on my door step! The card read "TO MOMMY, I LOVE YOU BELLA!" I later found out that they were sent by Bella's Gammie, Zack's Mom. They were the icing on the cake! Thank you so much Mrs. Lynn, they are beautiful!! I am enjoying them so much!

As you can see not just by the gifts, but also by all the love and support that I am the luckiest Mom in the world! I have to best family and a sweet little girl who adores me. What more could you want?

OOOEY GOOEY CHOCOLATE CAKE

One of my patients gave me this great recipe for "OOOEY GOOEY CHOCOLATE CAKE". It is AMAZING. I have a big sweet tooth and I'm always up for a new treat! I decided tonight that Bella should try it! See for yourself what she thought... It was too funny!! Hope you enjoy..

OOOEY GOOEY CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE

1 Betty Crocker Trip Choc. Fudge Cake Mix

1 Can coconut milk

Chocolate Syrup

1 8 oz cont. of cool whip

1 small box of instant white choc. pudding mix

coconut

pecans

Semi sweet Choc. chips

Mix cake mix as directed using the coconut milk and water as combo. Add choc. chips, coconut and pecans as you wish. Bake 350 for 30-35 min in 9x13 baking pan. Immediately poke holes in top of cake and cover with choc. syrup as soon as it is out of the oven. Let cool.

TOPPING

mix 1 C coconut milk, 1/2 C milk, pudding mix... add coconut, pecans and cool whip

Spread over top and refrigerate

If you are not one that likes coconut, have no fear! It taste like PURE CHOCOLATE HEAVEN!!! Its great! Hope you will try it!

Ridgeland Kids Day

Yesterday was Ridgeland's Kids Day. I have been looking forwards to it for a few weeks now! I knew there was going to be a lot going on and it is always fun to get Bella out! However, the rain kept us away in the morning until around 11:30. Once the rain cleared I was in a RUSH to get Bella out there for some fun before the rain came back. Even though we didn't get to stay very long and I totally was neglectful to half my friends I had made plans with (Brooks and Mandy I really am sorry). We ended up having a pretty fun time; short but fun. We got see the Holloways and The Brewers (Jessica and Landon, yes they are Kyle's sister-in-law and nephew)

Although Crew is only in one of my pictures, I promise he was there and cute as a button! Running around everywhere! I could eat him he is so cute! Carrington and Bella were busy little bees themselves. As you can see in the pictures they favor each other so much! I always love when we get them together. They are too funny..

Jenny, Jessica, Ryan and I were a sight at lunch time! On our feet, sweating and feeding ALL kids at once. if one got a bite, ALL got a bite! Cotton candy was a big hit with all the kids EXCEPT Bella!! Didn't seem to be her forte. However, Landon was so sweet. He kept trying to feed her the PINK kind and taking the blue for himself.

Landon and Jessica rode on the ponies while Bella and I watched. Bella didn't seem to care for the pony's at all! She'd rather be running around or watching one of the circus shows. Like I said, it was a short day, but I just enjoyed getting to spend it with her!

Bella has really started to enjoy playing in the sand. Every time we go to the park we end up on the slide or in the sand! So, I decided to take a trip to Toys R Us last week to buy her a sand box. Low and behold like everything else, It was a lot more than I wanted to pay!

Instead frustrated Mom decides to make one! Cadie and I figured that since I don't have cats around my apartment to mistaken it for a litter box and my patio is covered, we should do it the EL CHEAP O WAY!

My Day Off!

Tuesday I took the day off to spend with Bella. We were in need of some quality time between just us! Between work and everyday obligations, our time has been hurried. Honestly, I just needed a day to be with her! From swimming lessons to just playing around the house, Bella and I had such a fun day. I pretty much said from breakfast on that it was FUN day.. LIMITED RULES AND LOTS OF FUN!! :) I even let her eat Cheetos!! I'm not a big chip fan so we don't normally have them here. However, we ate at Newk's for lunch and I decided to let her have them as an afternoon snack! MAN DID SHE LOVE THEM!

I also pulled out a few of her Easter toys such as the side walk chalk and the gardening tools! We had ball, even without the backyard or GRASS! haha. I hope a house or condo with lots of grass and trees will be in our future! :) We both love being outdoors.

Oh and please notice the "blanket" a.k.a " PINK" in the pictures. We have officially become Linus from Charlie Brown. Pink goes with us EVERYWHERE, including outside to play! Cute at the time but I'm sure when its time to let PINK go, that will be a whole other story! Anyways, the day was good one. Stress free and full of Fun! I'm starting to wonder if I should be a stay-at-home-mom.. does anyone want to take over my bills?? :)

Soo.. every Mother waits to hear the sweet words "I love You." You never can imagine truly how you will feel until you hear them! Well, my day came this past Monday. Kyle and I were sitting around playing with Bella when she decided to sweetly pat me on the back and say " LUV YOU" followed by a MUAHHH, kiss! I teared up and my heart filled with such joy! Oh to know that your child loves you! :) What a great early Mother's day gift!!

Underwater Fishie!!

Since I took the day off Tuesday to spend with Bella, I also was able to go with her to swim lessons. I was very surprised to see what all she had learned in 5 weeks! She can hold her breath underwater, swim under water from one person to the next, kick on top of the water, and fish for objects independently by putting her face under to find them! She has come a long way and achieved all her goals! I couldn't believe it since just a few weeks ago she wasn't even kicking!

Her teacher told me that she is one of the children who has a natural instinct to "kick" when she is put under and as soon as she began putting her under, SHE KICKED! Therefore, that led to swimming a few feet all by herself! I was so proud and she really seems to love it! I think we are going to try and stay in through the summer. I'm still not 100% ready to do it on my own! :) Needless to say it was a lot of fun going with her and thanks to Cadie for tagging along to take the pictures! I know my Dad is smiling down on her! He was such an amazing swimmer and taught all of us Shields' kids to swim at a very early age! I'm sure he is watching over her with that big smile and saying "way to go Sissy Ann and Bella Boo!" :)

Weekend With Madrina!

This weekend my best friend and Bella's Godmother, Stephanie came into town! Steph has been a part of my family for 5 years! My Dad always had a special place in his heart for Steph. She has a great way of lighting up a room! I'm so glad she is an important part of both Bella and my life.

Steph was in Lindsey Swendenburg's (Pond) wedding which worked out great for us being that Lindsey is from Columbus! We all met and stayed at Mom's for the weekend, We really had a great time! From Lindsey's wedding to just hanging out around the house; Steph, Beka, Bella and I were always up to something! Bella warmed up to Steph very fast and the end of the weekend, Bella hardly left her side! I loved it.

I hope Bella will grow to be as beautiful as her Godmother! We love you Steph and wish you were closer!! We miss you tons! Thanks for a fast but wonderful time! We can't wait to see you again.

When Mommy's away... Bella Will Play!

Last Monday around midnight I woke up feeling the worst I have ever felt! I couldn't keep anything including water down. Thank goodness that Cadie (Ce-Ce) had spent the night or I would have been out on a limb ALONE! Cadie's electricity was still out so she was spending a few nights with Bella and I. Turns out.. I had food poisoning! I was very sick and generally weak.

After the first day with no rest and constant nausea/vomiting I didn't know what I was going to do. Since I couldn't do too much for myself, much less sweet Bella, I did what every other child does... CALL MOM!! Beka volunteered to bring Bella to Columbus just in case I was contagious. So, Bella spent the rest of the week at Mom's with Beka. SOOO PITIFUL! YEAH RIGHT! Between Beka, Mom, Paul, Grandma and the 3 extra woman who help around our house.. BELLA WAS IN HEAVEN! Lots of playing outside,eating cookies and pretty much having it her way. Guess that's what Aunts and Grandmothers are for!? If there is one person Bella loves.. Its Beka. They have a very special bond and I see them being best friends as she gets older. Bella already emulates Beka in everything! Including singing! haha.. They really just have a great time together and I love knowing that she is not only safe, but happy when I can't be there! I'm so blessed to have you both, Mom and Beka . Thanks AGAIN! I love you!

Well, I got to go back to work Thursday and work some Friday too. It was a lot to take on being that I was so weak, but someones gotta make the money! :) I came Friday after work and to my surprise there was Bella in the drive way waiting on me! I cried, Mom cried. we were all emotional! I missed her so much and she was ecstatic to see her Mom! Her smile and hugs were the best medicine!!

Long Time No Blog!

I'm assuming that most everyone knows about the terrible tornadoes that came through Jackson leaving their mark! Bella and I were out of Power for a little over 24 hours. I know that's not really an excuse not to blog but hey.. we've been busy! :)

Lately she has been running in full effect and VERY curious about "mommy's" things! As you can see from the picture above, she now loves to help me try and unlock the door! She will knock and follow it with "HELLO." Too cute!

We have also been experimenting for the past few months with various crayons, paints, stamps and markers. I finally pulled out my OT bag and just let her DIG IN! She shows a huge interest in crayons the most. Sometimes its 30 mins after bath time and we are still sitting in the luke warm/cold water so she can finish her "masterpiece!" I am having a great time with her. Moms if you don't have the crayola easy grip TaDoodles crayons, paints, markers and stamps. GET THEM!! They are awesome and are great for developmental writing. Just an OT tid-bit. Hope you enjoy the pics.

If you have talked to me in the past few weeks you may have gathered that I haven't really been myself. I"ll be honest.. I haven't. I guess you can say, just when you think things can get tough.. you'll be surprised that they can get even worse! I won't go into details, but lets just say.. BAD LUCK. My Uncle Richard gave me some advice once when I was throwing myself a pitting party. He said "its okay to admit its tough, its not okay to not do anything about it!" It was NOT the words I wanted to hear at the time, but those words have really made a difference. Whether its just another Monday or an Off day.. You still have to be the toughest you can be!

Well... I came home yesterday pretty much as down as I have been in a while after some work woes and increasingly bad news on new tires to only find the SWEETEST THING EVER! Bella was full of so much love and joy that I completely forgot about all my worries!! I then realized how good I really have it! Even on my "off" days she makes me so much stronger! Seems as though when I've been crying out for help, God already sent her.

EASTER 2008

Easter is a special time for me. When I was 8 years old I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart as my lord and savior. I still remember that Sunday morning and being so nervous about walking down the isle. What a difference Jesus has made in both mine and Bella's life! Im so thankful now that I get to tell her all about the good things he has done.

After a long week of work; Thursday we loaded up and headed to Columbus for Easter weekend with my Mom a.k.a. Pris or Nanu. Bella and I haven't gotten to spend a weekend with Pris since Jan. We were both in much need of some good Q.T. at "home". Friday we spent the day in Birmingham shopping with both Aunt Boo and NaNu! I always enjoy spending the day with Beka and my mom. We ALL love to shop and we ALWAYS have fun, so it was a very happy day.

Saturday Bella had her first Easter Egg hunt! We met up with a lot of my good girlfriends from high school and their children for a VERY eventful afternoon. There were children everywhere! I couldn't keep Bella situated for one minute. If she wasn't eating she was off into something. This child loves exploring! I have some adorable pictures that will come as soon as I can get them from Pris' camera!

I loved seeing everyone and their children! It really makes me smile to have them all together!

Sunday, Easter was VERY busy. I just couldn't seem to get a decent picture that day! As you can see our "family" photo of Bella and I is NOT the cutest! Between her facial expression and my hair in my face, we were ONE HOT MESS! Bella wore a dress that was actually MINE, made by Pris. It was always one of my favorites and even more special since we both have worn it! Bella's Gammie (Zack's Mom) gave her the cutest shoes! I LOVE THEM and what better time to break out the new duds than Easter Sunday! Thanks Mrs. Lynn! After Sunday lunch we headed back to Jackson for a much needed day alone together and LOTS of house cleaning! I hope everyone was as blessed this Easter as we were. God is definitely good.. ALL THE TIME!

HELLO FRIENDS AND FAMILY WE ARE BACK!!!

After a week or so with no Internet action, my sweet Mom gave me her old laptop! I am so thankful, as is my wallet. I need to clear one thing up. THE TU-TU in the pictures was given to her by her Godmother Stephanie (Madrina) when we went to NYC in December. I totally got it confused with her gift from me and I apologize to Stephanie before she disowns me! :)

My Mom was sweet enough to give Bella swim lessons for a VERY early Easter gift a while back however we missed several weeks due to a cold and spring break. We finally had our first sesson Tuesday with 2 other children. We had SUCH a good time! She has always loved the water and being around other children so, Its a fun place to go! Her favorite part is the slide and floating on her back! She does great at putting her face all the way under independently however, kicking is still an option for her. Cadie or a.k.a "Ce-Ce" as Bella has renamed her will be taking her on Tuesday mornings at 11:00. MOM is working! (POUT!!)

I Have a Dream..

I grew up loving dance and secretly still do. Jenny Manning Holloway and I had our first dance recital at the English school of dance when we were 3 and finished our senior year together at Ballet Columbus. We have joked that our children probably wouldn't even like to dance, just because we wanted Bella and Carrington to! When Kyle and I visited New York back at Christmas, Stephanie (Madrina) bought Bella this sweet tu-tu at FAO. I had forgotten about it, until I found it hanging in the closet and realized it was time to try it out! Bella LOVED it and I just beamed with excitement. I think she makes a cute little dancer! Oh and please notice the picture in her hand. Its Bella's Nanu, my Mom. She sent us her school picture in our Valentine's happy and I laughed at her for doing it. I mean, who sends personal photos of themselves? ha. Apparently Bella loved the idea, because it has not left her hand. So.. here is proof Mom that she does love you!

All By Myself

I have really started to enjoy cooking! I am always looking for new, easy recipes to try. (if you have any please send them my way) After work, around 5:00 we start dinner and Bella usually sits on the counter close to me and "munches" on her dinner if everything is not ready by the time her tummy says. This has actually been a great way for me to help her learn to feed herself, or so I thought! She would "assists" with a few bits here and there. Since she has figured out that she can "DO IT HERSELF" she no longer needs Mommy. (INSERT SAD FACE). She pouts, throws food or says NO now when I try to help her. Meals have gone from 15 min to 50 minutes!!! She will try and pick every piece of corn up until it is all gone and stone cold! I thought It was so cute and fun, but I will admit my devotionals have now been directed towards patience. Here is to me finding some through Miss Pris and meal time!

Duck, Duck, Goose!

Sunday after church Bella and I went to feed the ducks at the at our apartment. She thinks all animals are "ducks" or at least that is what we are calling them these days. It was such a beautiful day and a perfect Sunday to spend together. She couldn't realize that the bread was for the ducks. Every time I would throw the bread to feed them, she would go for it! She pouted or got upset when the ducks got the bread and she didn't! Pretty cute and very funny! I just love this child! She can truly be a little handful, but then I realize who's child she is! And there off... Bella and the duck both after the bread; as you can see Bella won!
I sat in the swing while she played a while and she took a break as though she was coming to tell me something important! It was so cute!

This past Saturday Adam and Megan met Bella and I at my Aunt Noe and Uncle Joe's house in Ackerman for the day. We had soo much fun! Bella had her first 4-wheeler ride and really loved it! This child is such a thrill seeker and never seems to be scared of anything! Reminds me a lot of my self when I younger!

Adam and Megan had Orientation Leader practice all morning at Mississippi State so, Bella entertained us until they got there. She explored their house at least 20 times, getting into anything and everything she could find! My Uncle and Aunt are like adopted grandparents! They SPOIL Bella roting! I can't really complain; they both remind me so much of my daddy that I usually find myself overflowing with happiness when I leave. My dad was very close to the both of them and always talked as though his brothers and sister (and spouses) hung the moon! As time passes, I'm really starting to appreciate all of them so much more! I think, actually I KNOW my Dad would have really enjoyed the day with all of us together. He always said the second most important thing in life was family..
Adam and Megan finally got there around 4 and Bella really began to show out! She showed her Aunt Meggie how to really wear sunglasses and her Uncle Adam that kisses were extra special! She even got her first taste of Shields' cooking! My Aunt spoiled us with some gooood Jambalaya, an amazing salad, and ice box mouse pie! We then got to see some home footage of Bella's cousin Gabby. Gabby is my cousin Jason and his wife, Debbie's first child who is 6 weeks older than Bella. (Aunt and Uncle's son) Jason and Debbie just had their second a few weeks ago, Allie! They both are very beautiful little girls! My Aunt had some footage of Gabby on her computer..she was full of jabber and dancing which really seemed to entertain Bella! She couldn't keep her eyes off the computer! We got so tickled watching her. It was almost like they were communicating, very cute, but strange too! :)
After much visiting, Bella and I headed back to Jackson. Bella was out like a light 20 minutes into the ride. She seemed to be worn out from all the playing! We had such a fun day. It's always good to see my family! As my Dad would say, "it doesn't get much better than them!" ;)

INTRODUCING CADIE COLLINS!
Cadie is Bella's nanny a.k.a second mommy, my saving grace, therapist, life organizer.. etc. Not only does she keep Bella 4 days a week, rain or shine; She keeps me sane and in line.
Cadie is 21 years old from Crystal Springs, Ms. She is currently taking time off from school to figure out what she wants to major in. I'm sure Bella has given her much to think about when it comes to a pediatric profession! :) She completed 2 years at Copiah-Lincoln and will be returning to school at USM in the fall as Bella ventures off to the land of daycare.
Just to give you an idea of how awesome Cadie is, a few weeks back I had a single mom melt down-crisis. I was suppose to be in New Orleans during the week for a seminar on Stroke and Cardio-vascular disorders when I realized I had no idea what I was going to do with Bella. INSERT CADIE! In the midst of my mental breakdown and pity party, Cadie volunteers to tag along and take care of Bella. So.. all three of us load up and head to New Orleans! (Trips to New Orleans sure have changed!) No comment please.
Back to our trip.. 5:30 am came very early. As I got ready and tried not to wake "The Princess" or Cadie, I heard the tv and there were the two of them under the covers watching Disney! Cadie never once complained and was such a joy to be around! As I endured a very long and boring day of seminars, Cadie and Bella went to the New Orleans Aquarium! Bella really had a blast and I was so thankful for all Cadie did that day! It turned out to be a fun trip.
From going to the park to pretend shopping in Bella's closet, Cadie is always a breathe of fresh air! EVERY MOM SHOULD HAVE A CADIE! She is pretty AMAZING!

Three Strikes ANNND.. You're Still Cute!

CAUTION: if you are one of those people who think naked babies should not be seen besides at home, this is NOT FOR YOU!!
Bella is ALWAYS into something and it never being what she is suppose to be into! I seems these days I'm constantly saying "Bella, where'd ya go?" and I turn around and she has that smirk on her face like... HE HE... I gotcha again! My mom always said I would soon pay for all the sleepless nights I put her through and I'm starting to get a small taste of what I like to call "SELECTIVE HEARING BY BELLA!"
It was bath time tonight and we were running a little behind schedule. I had been trying all night to get her on camera saying some of her new words such as "Bella B, My Baby, Tigger.. etc. HOWEVER, kids never do anything on Q or at least mine doesn't! :)
So.. while I was running her water I turned around, yet again to not find her behind me.. I panicked.. ran into my room and there she was!
STRIKE ONE: she took her diaper off
STRIKE TWO: she was on my computer
STRIKE THREE: she PEE-Peed on my floor (a new terrible habit in which she enjoys watching herself!, GROSS)
I grabbed my camera.. and well, you will see what i got! I did manage to get her blowing kisses for me which is a new skill. I then smiled and thought.. IF YOU WEREN'T SO DANG CUTE!

P.S. please disregard the background of my room. Claire has taken over my room for the moment and even she knows my OCD self has issues with it! Its best to just not look! (I still love you Claire!)

Weekend with Daddy!

This past weekend Zack and Mrs. Lynn a.k.a Gammie came to spend time with Bella and it turned out to be a HUGE success! Zack did so good with Bella and really impressed me with how instantly they bonded! Bella warmed up super fast! From going to the park to watching Cinderella with Daddy, Bella was as happy as ever! It also gave me and Kyle a WHOLE day together without worrying about the time! We went to lunch, bowling and to the movies! We called it SATURDAY FUN DAY! We really enjoyed our time together and appreciate so much all Zack and Gammie did for Bella!
If you have ever noticed, Gammie is the master behind all of Bella's precious outfits! She does a maticulous job and Im so thankful for all she does for me! Bella is always fit to be tied! Im very blessed! I just feel sorry for Bella's children! I gotta learn! and YES MOM, you should dust off that NEW sewing machine you procrastinator! :) Here are some pictures from this weekend! As you can see, Bella takes after her daddy alot especially when she is being hard headed! :) Just kidding Zack!

Peer Pressure!

Hello! I have officially been "pressured" into Blogging! Ive tried for a WHOLE YEAR now to prevent this from happening in fear that I would be judge for my oh so many mistakes as a new mom but my 2 reluctant but AMAZING friends from high school, Jenny Holloway and Paige Wamble have decided to suprise me and MAKE MY BLOG for me! Since Ive struggled with peer pressure for so long ( NO COMMENT FAMILY) I once again fell in the trap! I do hope this will bring both sides of Bella's family closer to the daily life with Bella! So.. I must say.. THANKS JEN for your constant creativity in your hectic world with twins! You are so selfless and precious! and thanks to Paige for your constant support! I am constantly trying to be as cool and great of a SUPER MOM and you two! MUAH!!! xoxo
